This Policy describes how information is handled by Smart DVR, an application designed to connect via Wi‑Fi to automotive dashboard cameras and combo devices, view and download video files, change settings, and update devices.
To discover and connect to devices, Smart DVR processes technical information about Wi‑Fi networks, including the network name (SSID) and connection parameters.
A Wi‑Fi password entered by the user, paired-device information, the selected language, and the auto-connect preference are stored locally on the phone.
When working with a DVR, the application obtains a file list and user-selected recordings directly from the external device. Recordings may contain faces, vehicle registration numbers, voices, location information, and other data. The application does not analyze recording content or automatically send recordings to the developer.
The operating system may request access to Wi‑Fi, the local network, nearby devices, and location to discover the DVR Wi‑Fi network and connect to the external device. Smart DVR uses these permissions only to discover compatible devices and establish a connection.
Photo-library access is used only when the user chooses to save a video. Saved files are placed in the phone’s media library and remain under the user’s control.
Video files, settings, and commands are transferred directly between the phone and the connected device over a local Wi‑Fi network. Smart DVR does not upload recordings to the developer’s server and does not sell personal data.
The application may contact an update server to check for or download updates. Standard technical connection data may be transmitted, including the IP address, request date and time, device model, and software version.
Paired-device information, its Wi‑Fi password, and related settings are retained until the device is unpaired or the application data is deleted.
When a device is unpaired, Smart DVR removes the saved network, password, session information, file list, and device-related cache. Videos separately saved by the user to the phone’s media library are not removed automatically.
Smart DVR uses operating-system mechanisms to store settings and manage network connections. The user is responsible for protecting access to the phone, external device, and its Wi‑Fi password.
The user can revoke permissions in system settings, disable auto-connect, unpair a device, delete saved videos, or erase application data. Revoking required permissions may make device discovery and some functions unavailable.
This Policy may be updated when Smart DVR functionality or legal requirements change. The current version is available in the application settings.
